Staff Updates from North Carolina Dance Theatre and North Carolina Dance Theatre School of Dance
Tracie Foster Chan joins NC Dance Theatre as education & outreach coordinator. Chan is originally from Kinston, N.C., and earned a B.A. from Peace College and an M.F.A. in Dance Performance from UNC Greensboro.
She has been president of the North Carolina Dance Project since 2004. In addition to her role as the education and outreach coordinator, Chan will serve as a teaching artist for education and outreach programs. Chan can be reached at tchan@ncdance.org and 704.372.0101 x2775.
Summer Collins, from Dayton, Ohio, joins NC Dance Theatre as director of costume. Collins received a B.F.A. in Theatre Design and Technology with an emphasis on Costume Design and Construction from Wright State University. She has worked for many acclaimed companies such as Houston Ballet, Ballet Met, the Trey McIntyre project and Opera Memphis. Collins can be reached at scollins@ncdance.org and 704.372.0101 x117.
Peter J. Gindling joins NC Dance Theatre’s development department as donor relations and stewardship coordinator. A native of Indianapolis, Ind., with degrees in Telecommunications, Business and Theatre from Indiana University, Gindling previously worked as assistant house manager with the Indiana University Auditorium, and as an account executive with Nuvo Newsweekly and Meyer & Wallis. Gindling’s specific focus will be management of the Company’s auxiliary volunteer groups, oversight for volunteer coordination, special events and donor/constituent relations. Susie Johnson joins NC Dance Theatre School of Dance as assistant to the director and head of the jazz program. Johnson’s dance career began as a young child in Columbia, S.C., and she later went on to pursue a professional dance career.
In 1998, Johnson and her business partner Tony Vitale formed Vitale Productions and under their business she trained dancers from all over the country, teaching master classes and setting award winning choreography.

Brooke A. McCarthy joins NC Dance Theatre’s development department as associate director of development.
Her specific focus will be on corporate and foundation relations and philanthropy. A native of Colorado, with a degree in Theatre Arts from the University of Northern Colorado, McCarthy previously served as a development officer with the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center, the Signature Theatre Company and Ballet Hispanico.
