The holidays aren’t complete without seeing Nutcracker, Charlotte’s favorite holiday tradition. Bring your family and friends along for this holiday spectacular featuring choreography by Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux, live music from the Charlotte Symphony and over 100 performers. Be there as the Nutcracker Prince triumphs over the evil Mouse King and as the Sugar Plum Fairy entertains Clara, her Nutcracker Prince, and the audience with dazzling dancing sweets. Nutcracker Highlights:

  • Performed with the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra 
  • Cast includes the professional dancers of North Carolina Dance Theatre, NC Dance Theatre 2 and over a hundred students from the community (many from NC Dance Theatre School of Dance)
  • Two semi-trailer trucks are required to transport Nutcracker’s props and equipment to the Belk Theater. Nutcracker includes a flying walnut shell, a growing Christmas tree, 165 costumes, 200 pounds of “snow” and 250 pounds of dry ice.
