Director’s Choice – Classic. Contemporary. Compelling.

May 13-15 | Knight Theater

North Carolina Dance Theatre’s 2009-2010 Season of Magnificent Moves concludes with Director’s Choice. Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux, Dance Theatre’s artistic director since 1996, handpicked three ballets for the program.

“This is the first time we’ve done a Director’s Choice performance and we plan to make it an annual series,” said Bonnefoux. “For Director’s Choice I’ve chosen ballets and choreographers I find exciting and want to share with our audience. It’s my way of telling the audience ‘you’ve got to see this!’”

For Director’s Choice Bonnefoux chose:

A Kennedy Center Shindig

Dance Theatre will perform Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux's Shindig, featuring the Greasy Beans bluegrass band, for the Kennedy Center’s Ballet Across America! The Company was one of only nine dance companies invited to participate and will perform June 15 and 16 along with Houston Ballet and The Suzanne Farrell Ballet.

Attend the performance! Dance Theatre invites you to join us as we celebrate our debut performance in Ballet Across America. The Company is organizing a trip to Washington, D.C., with artistic leaders Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux and Patricia McBride, and Company dancers. Click here for a complete trip itinerary. Reservations must be received by April 26, so act quickly!
