Darleen Callaghan

Darleen Callaghan began her dance training in Chicago where she performed with the Stone-Camryn Ballet, New York City Ballet at the Ravinia Festival and Pennsylvania Ballet at the Chicago Opera House. She was awarded scholarships for further study at the American Ballet Theatre School and the School of American Ballet. She performed with Ballet Repertory Today under the direction of Suki Schorer and danced at the Lincoln and Kennedy Centers with NYC Opera.
Ms. Callaghan has toured throughout the United States with Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux - Patricia McBride & Co. and Jacques D’Amboise & Friends. She danced as a guest artist with Mr. D’Amboise at the Chicago Lyric Opera Ballet, and performed at the White House for President Carter and visiting Prime Ministers at a NATO Summit Dinner. Ms. Callaghan danced with North Carolina Dance Theatre for five seasons, joining them for two European tours, performances at the Spoleto Festivals in America and Italy, and extensive U.S. tours. She rejoins Dance Theatre as director of the School of Dance after gaining experience as a teacher, choreographer and arts administrator.
