This new community dance camp, offered through NC Dance Theatre’s Education and Outreach Department, is for ages 6 through 11, and no prior dance experience is required. Professional Teaching Artists will lead the camps.
Dance Jam! For Ages 6 & 7
Dance-A-Story
NC Dance Theatre offers an engaging Dance-A-Story program that brings the world of ballet to young children. This program enhances literacy through creative movement, music, show and tell, and take home activities, inspired by the different story ballets. Children will also be introduced to some modern dance movement through rhythmic and improvisational exercises.
Dance Jam! For Ages 8-11
Bamboula to Ballet and Jazz, Jive and Jam
NC Dance Theatre offers fun and diverse experiences through dance. Children learn traditional dances from African Bamboula to classical ballet, and will jazz, jive and jam together in dance, to American jazz and swing music! Campers learn how to create their own dances and share their choreography in a dance jam on the last day of camp.
