cARTwheels is an initiative of the North Carolina Arts Council, which provides arts programs for elementary school children. In Spring 2008, several opera, dance and theater companies, including NC Dance Theatre, will tour as part of cARTwheels and reach approximately 64,000 children in 40 counties statewide.
The programs are condensed to 50 minutes and are professionally-staged and free for the students. NC Dance Theatre is a proud participant in cARTwheels and this year will perform Under Southern Skies featuring choreography by Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux, Mark Diamond and Dwight Rhoden.
Under Southern Skies Performance Guide
The Under Southern Skies Performance Guide for Students and Teachers is designed to help teachers make the most out of NC Dance Theatre’s Under Southern Skies performance. The guide features information about each of the works being presented during Under Southern Skies and activities teachers may share with their students.
