Season Highlights
North Carolina Dance Theatre is looking forward to an amazing 2011-2012 season, and we hope you join us as a subscriber! Highlights for the 2011-2012 season include choreographer William Forsythe’s In The Middle, Somewhat Elevated. This legendary contemporary ballet is one of many of our dancers’ favorite ballets. Speaking of dancers – dancer Sasha Janes takes a break from performing to choreograph Dangerous Liaisons, a twisted tale of passion and betrayal with original music and a modern set. The season is anchored with the classics – Nutcracker remains one of Charlotte’s favorite holiday traditions, and we hope to start a new tradition with Sleeping Beauty, considered the essence of classical ballet. The new production will include enchanting choreography, gorgeous costumes, magical sets and Tchaikovsky’s unforgettable score. Click here for details on each performance>
New Theater – 701 North Tryon
This season Innovative Works will be performed in the new 200-seat theater inside Dance Theatre’s home in Uptown Charlotte. Moving Innovative Works to Dance Theatre’s home gives us the ability to try some new things we’re excited about. We’re taking Innovative Works from a performance to an experience – bringing you closer to the dancers than ever before, using our beautiful atrium to serve food and drinks throughout the evening, and giving you access to the dancers who will join the audience for dessert and coffee after the performance.
