For students still working toward their high school diploma, the School of Dance recommends the following academic options. Please note that these are not the only options available; if students are currently enrolled in an academic program that works for them, they are welcome to continue with that while attending our program. Home schooled or part-time college students are also eligible for this program.
Please contact Katie Jenkins, the Pre-Professional Division administrator, at 704.372.2770 or firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions or to request additional information.

Northwest School of the Arts
Northwest School of the Arts (NWSA) is a perfect option for students seeking a traditional classroom environment. NWSA is a small, comprehensive secondary school with an enrollment of 1200 serving Grades 6-12. Students fulfill their artistic requirements through the NC Dance Theatre pre-professional classes and their academic requirements through NWSA. At NWSA, students are valued as individuals and have personal connections to faculty and staff. NWSA is a public magnet school within the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System with no additional fees to the student or family.
NWSA offers an A-day, B-day schedule of academics to allow the student the opportunity to study four core subjects each semester. Each student’s academic needs can be individually handled with the expert help of the NWSA student counselor. Previous high school credits can be transferred to NWSA from anywhere in the country. Transportation between the two schools will be provided by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools.
