Go behind-the-scenes in rehearsal with Andrea & Greg

Andrea Smith
Global Head of Human Resources
Bank of America

Background/Hometown/Education/Work:  Andrea is from Norman, Oklahoma.  She grew up spending most of the time on her grandmother’s ranch… the children love going back to the Wild West whenever possible. She went to Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX and is currently the Global Head of Human Resources at Bank of America. As a member of the Board for Discovery Place and Thompson Child and Family Focus, she is active in the Charlotte community, with a particular focus and passion on helping children and supporting education.

Interests/Hobbies: Her interests include first and foremost- her family, she has 3 children, and a fantastic husband, who keep her busy...splitting time between the baseball, basketball, football, soccer fields and then some.  She also loves to work out, and recently completed her first half marathon with plans for another in February- shortly after Dancing with the Stars.

Charity/Non-profit supporting in addition to NC Dance: Cookies for Kids Cancer is near and dear to her heart.  Gretchen Witt, the founder, started this non profit when her son, Liam, was diagnosed with cancerThe organization works to raise money and awareness to support research for pediatric cancer.  Ultimately Liam lost  his battle but Gretchen continues marching forward, determined to change the outcome for others…her heart is huge and story… inspiring.

Andrea was a bit nervous to sign on as a dancing star but thought this would be a great way to learn something new, have a great time doing it and raise A LOT OF money for a great cause.
