Courtney Holland was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. At age 11, she was accepted to Canada's National Ballet School and graduated in 2010.  As a student, Courtney performed in Swan Lake Act II, Paquita, Flower Festival pas de deux, and "Molly" in Yondering.  In 2011, Courtney continued her training with Dance Theatre of Harlem's Professional Program, performing The Firebird, the pas de deux in Pedro Ruiz's Homentage (world premiere), and Dewdrop and Grand pas de deux in The Nutcracker.  In June 2012, she was a finalist at the Boston International Ballet Competition. She was also awarded a scholarship to the Banff Centre's Professional Dance Program where she performed in George Balanchine's Concerto Barocco and Christopher Wheeldon's Souvenirs.
