Advanced Division
Age 14+

Advanced Division classes are appropriate for students with a significant ballet training background.  A placement class is required for enrollment in all Advanced Division classes. Youth Ballet is recommended for students ages 10-14 with little or no prior ballet experience. Students ages 14 and up who are new to ballet are encouraged to begin their dance training in the School’s Adult Open Division.

Classes begin September 3, 2013 and conclude with the Spring Performances, June 6-8, 2014. Students in this division also have the opportunity to audition to perform with North Carolina Dance Theatre in Nutcracker.

Students in the Advanced Division are eligible to participate in the Student Ensemble 5 performing company and Pas de Deux. Members of the Student Ensembles are able to take their training outside the classroom through a variety of performance opportunities including North Carolina Dance Theatre sponsored events and educational outreach presentations in the community.

Dress Code

In the proud tradition of classical ballet and in encouragement of each dancer’s positive self-image, we strive to have a clean, uniformed appearance for all our students. Please help us achieve this goal by purchasing leotards, tights and ballet shoes that match our dress code requirements and by fixing your child’s hair for class in the appropriate manner as listed.

Morris Costumes (4300 Monroe Rd, Charlotte, NC, 28205) carries School of Dance dress code attire. Tutu.com no longer stocks most School of Dance dress code, but may have overstock dress code items remaining for sale.
